I am dropping in a new engine and I am buying extreme motor mounts. I have heard that AL SFB's and emtreme's are risky maybe not on a stock SHO, but what about on a modded SHO? I know you people like to shoot down people who say they are gonna mod, but that isn't the question at hand so I'd like it if you just answered the questions and provided good info. Thanks

I have the front and rear extreme mounts and absolutely love them. You'll get slightly more noise and vibration at idle, but the improved engine to pavement power transfer is worth it!

The ASB will be on my car in the near future but I have heard nothing but great feedback about them.

Don't be afraid to put these on your car, you will love them!

Right but what about when combined with a higher powered SHO? Then what gives, you have solid motor mounts and aluminum subframe bushing neither of them barely move so whats gonna take all the force? The subframe? So is emtreme motor mounts and al sfb's safe to have together?

the only issue would be vibration and such.. the weak link becomes the axles. and thats a good thing, rather that than the tranny.

You may be remembering comments some folks have made about the SS Torque Limiters; these are essentially solid links which replace the three engine roll dampers. The OEM roll dampers are little oil filled shock absorbers, but without a spring. They keep the engine from moving too quickly and should damp out any oscillation that might occur.

When the roll dampers are replaced with solid links, the forces transmitted to the roll damper brackets are often more then they were designed for, and the brackets are known to fracture.

Your combination of Extreme MM's and Aluminum SFB's shouldn't be a problem.

I have all 3 of Kirk's mounts (and anyone knows that Kirk is eXtreme by any sense of the word) My engine moves aout 1/4 to 3/8th's of an inch at the top of the motor when sitting still and mashing on the gas in 1st or reverse. So for all intents and purposes my engine dosen't move. I run my AL SFB's and have been running the Kirked mounts & AL SFB's now for 18k miles including the track at the convention. I've had no problems, and I routienly am running the car hard cause the engine in there is on its way outta the car. Bring on the 3.2!!!!
