Not sure if this has been asked, but are they worth it? Minus the three recalls, my 2013 SHO has been flawless. The biggest issues I've seen online are spark plugs needing replacement between 50,000-60,000 miles and carbon build-up. Anything else that I'm missing?

Cheers!

On the Lincolns, you can get full bumper to bumper coverage to 125k miles if you want, and I think that is worth the cost because any one failure of a computer or mechanical part will cost you as much as the warranty coverage does. If you can get that on the Ford as well, I would have the same answer. If you only get powertrain coverage, I would likely pass, since the computers and other electrical stuff is far more likely to fail nowadays than the actual driveline parts.

My 2015 SHO w/ pp is about a month old. Just finishing up bidding the Ford ESP 6 year / 100k Premium Care. 10% down, you can go up to 24 months with no interest. This is not a solution for spark plugs, those being a maintenance item. I agree with the other post, however, the risk is the on board computers. This engine is virtually bullet proof if you take care of it. The APIM or MFT.......not so much.

My will be covered by the end of the week.

Read the fine print very carefully. Usually there is a stipulation that you must have oil changed every 4 months or 3000 miles (whichever comes first) and failure to do that even one time voids the warranty. I'm not a fan of purchasing extended warranties. If they worked out for the customer, they'd go out of business. It's similar to insurance in my book.

The Ford/Lincoln extended warranties have the same coverage as the original factory warranty. The insurance company extended warranties have about a million lines of fine print that pretty much disqualifies almost everything from being covered. That is why we only sell the Lincoln stuff at our store.

When I bought mine (used), the dealer tried selling me some MPP service contract. I didn't go for it. I researched it after the fact, it appears the company is funded and owned by Warren Buffet. Oh well, not that it really changes anything... I have purchased Ford ESPs in the past. I want something that any and every Ford dealer in the Country will honor. Not sure what that whole MPP thing was.
