Well, I've had an interesting first 60 days as a SHO owner. The list of repairs/maintance is as follows:

welded
spark plugs
mirc module
driver side ball joint
driver side lower control arm
sway bars
new tires
new rotors
new pads
oil change
ps fluid change
brake fluid change
coolant flush
and to top it all off
transmision!!!!!!!! (complete rebuild)

The darn thing had 76,000 miles on it when I bought it for $9,000.....lol
Of course I opted out of the extended warranty because I'm a dumba_ _!!!!!

Bottom line $3200.00 invested in under 2 months............I'll never in my life buy from the ______ ___________ _________ _________ (fill in the blanks) at Elite Motors in Detroit ever again........This has sure been an expensive learning experience. But I must say, I still love my SHO!!!!! ( a real love/hate relationship at this point)

Damn. I paid $7800 for my 99 with 57K on it & the only problems so far were a DPFE Sensor [covered under warranty] and a TC shaft seal [covered under warranty].

Good luck with the rest of your SHO Ownership life.

I feel your pain. Bought my 98 with only 72K on it for 6K, but turns out the as%^$%le I bought it from maybe changed the oil once or twice in that 75K. I drove ten hours to get my cams welded, and the result was a stuck valve, some gunk got knocked loose durning the process and there you go.

The ford guy told me, something like 35 hours, and over 6K. Now Im looking for a new engine. Probably gona run 4K on the cheap end. Dang, wish I was back in massachutches, probably spelled that wrong.

I have the same love hate relationship, I hate these stupid cars with all my soul, but I cant see myself driving anything else, at least until I graduate and get my 5 series beemer.

Take care and good luck.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles. On the other hand, if you had checked out the Gen 3 forums or the V8SHO.com list before you went SHO shopping, you'd know that $9K is about $4K too much anyway and you would have bought a different car. :frown:

:laugh_ti:  Unless you are buying that BMW brand new with the best warranty money can buy, you'll be in the same boat for repairs but with a higher sticker price and more expensive parts.

99 SHO, less than 68k miles on her, and was a fleet car.

1 year, $5000 dollars in repairs, seems like everything has been replaced underwarranty.
