I'm Steve in Vancouver Washington and recently bought my first SHO. It's a 94'. I really like the car and I really hope it doesn't drain me dry of what $$$$$ I have left or my wife will **** me very soon. I bought it for $1800.00 which was a good deal until the ATX went out on it 2 weeks after I brought it home. But put $500.00 in tires on it the first week before the tranny went south. Had a friend of a friend rebuild it for me (never again) for $1500.00 which I thought was a smoking deal. It wasn't as it went out a couple weeks after I got it back. I'm now in the process of suing him to get my money back.
Bought a parts car for $800.00 with a good tranny in it, I hope, and thankfully had a friend in Bend, Duane Barker, take the new one out, take mine out and then install the new one for me for free. He saved my life.
So between all expenses ( parts, gas, motels, etc, etc ) and buying two cars, a piece of crap rebuilt tranny from the guy, no names mentioned, who lives real close to Dollars Corner in Washington, my $1800.00 94' SHO has cost me ruffly $5300.00+. Oh well at least I like the car and have a little fun with it.
I only hope the new used tranny will last or I'm a "dead man walking!!!!"
I need to clearify this posting a little better yall. I guess it was taken wrong and I can see why and I'm really sorry. The person who rebuilt the tranny for me in the Battle Ground area is in no way shape or form associated with this or any other SHO forum or site or the SHO Source or SHO's period. That was part of the problem. I believe he lied to me and said in his 40 years of rebuilding tranny's he would do a good job, of course. But come to find out afterwards this was the 1st SHO he had ever touched, hence the problem.
So again if I've offended anyone it was not meant to happen. Just letting off steam. I love the car and just hope this new, used tranny will last for awhile. And thanks again to Super Duane Barker in Bend for all the help....Steve.
