You'd be surprised how many people don't think of that haha.

Years of experience as an automotive tech and shop owner! lol Those nylon lock nuts work awesome, enough that a lot of the time they need heated and torched to get the nylon burnt out of the nut to remove them. But for exhaust most definitely the weird shaped Grade C nuts. lol

Got it all finished up today finally. Everything is bolted up, oxygen sensors all plugged in and routed properly, and the belly shield even clears everything fine. Took it for a drive and it sounds great. The exhaust is only slightly louder when driving around, but under boost you can hear the downpipes growl. :)

Just posted in your other suspension thread. So I went through a couple of exhausts setups before I landed with my current one. I loved the muffler delete noise but most of the posts mentioned the drone so I thought, how can i keep this drone at bay and tried out something completely different and funny enough, many followed my setup after that. So I cut the mufflers off and installed a couple of vibrant ultra quiet resonators. Right away it made the sound nice and deep and I loved it. I drove like that for a couple of years till I started to get an itch for something louder cause I had gotten used to the noise. Well It was either the 3rd cat or the resonator. Most said, dont touch the 3rd cat, will make things horrible but with most cars, removing the resonator is usually what makes things worse. So i thought, ill remove the resonator and see how it is. Horrible....and ill tell you the reason for that. So i basically eliminated the oem resonator and now the vibrant resonators in place of the mufflers were trying to compensate for the drone and i think just cause of where they were located, it just made things worse. The drone area revs were head pounding and I thought ok ill give it some time and maybe it just needs time to break in but the resonators were there for 2 years so there was no breaking in. After a couple of weeks, I was like ok I need to do something different. My problem now was, oh man, am i going to go through 10 setups now to make this work?? Well i knew the resonators out back were the issue so those had to go, so yes, i basically went straight pipe after the 3rd cat BUT i installed some resonated tips. I had seen another SHO do it so thought why not. Honestly, I was suprised at this setup. It brought the volume up like I wanted but got rid of that head thumping drone area. It definitely wasnt 100% gone but enough where was much more bareable. I do admit, at times, it can get loud but i think over time, ive just gotten accustomed to it and its actually not bad. Ive taken family on 8-9 hour trips and hovering around 80 is fairly quiet suprisingly. There definitely is a hum but just barely. I will admit, my wife had to sit in the 3rd row for some trips and yes, anyone back there will feel it the worse since youre literally sitting right on top of the exhaust and she did complain that its loud back there lol but 1st and 2nd row and very managable. I love the setup honestly and I dont know how to explain this but you just have to experience it for yourself to be the judge. Thankfully my family doesnt complain cause honestly, its louder than before but once it gets into 6th gear, its very manageable and when i get on it, people know something crazy is coming lol

Yeah, this is exactly the scenario I want to avoid.

But you cant, just cause someone says a setup sounds amazing for them doesnt mean anything until you go through with it and experience it for yourself. Honestly, if I were you, i would do the vibrant ultra quiet resonator setup first and see how you like that, so many praised that setup but then depends on how loud you want it. Youve got catless DP's now so that certainly will make things louder if you were to remove the mufflers

I don't want to be hacking exhaust parts on it praying that I like it.

I have catless PPE dp on my 13, and catted PPE dp on a 19. I picked up 4-5 tenths in 1/4 dragy runs with dp alone. No difference between catted or catless. Paul at PPE just did a full exhaust for me on the 13, mufflered xpipe, and Magnaflows. It sounds fantastic!!!! He is going to start selling the full exhaust. Doing the exact same setup on the 19 after Christmas.
For the catless car, did you find an increase in stench? Or did the remaining 3rd cat handle that (for as long as you had it)?
