Anyone upgraded the exhaust without regrets as far as money spent or the sound not being great? I was thinking of maybe doing just the downpipes but leave the rest of the exhaust stock, but I'm not sure if it's even worth it for the price tag. Also regarding the downpipes - has anyone been able to run the catless downpipes and able to tune out the CEL or run o2 simulators to keep it away? Thanks!

I have lms catted downpipes and Magnaflow bc.

You’ll always get a cel with careless. I forget what brand but there is only one or two catted downpipes that won’t throw codes. It’s not lms I know that much.

I want to say I run 02 things from bigdaddiesgarage.

In other vehicles I've been able to tune the rear o2's out, but I don't think any of the tuners now offer that from what I've seen. I haven't heard of any o2 simulators or spacers that have been able to keep the CEL away either from catless downpipes.

My exhaust is bone stock and I ran electronic cut offs just before the mufflers. I don't think this car will ever sound as good as it performs but at least I can flip a button and go back to work mode when I'm done sounding like a Civic.

I used spark plug no foulers on my old Mustang with gutted cats / X pipes. They worked for 3 - 6 months before a CEL would come on. I'd never heard of mini cats, but I looked them up yesterday. Having a small filter in each one has to help trick the 02's.

Yup, and why I picked them they have cat honeycomb. I can't say if they work just bought them in case I couldn't find a tuner.

Out of curiosity, what's the secret password to get tuners to tune out O2's? That'd be the best way.

My suggestion is look thru folks signatures and use search, then ask if they will. In this environment it is not safe to advertise, however asking is allowed.

Alright, with that being said, it seems like I would be best to just go to catless downpipes and leave the rest of the exhaust stock. Everyone over on the Flex forum has noted that their one regret was changing the exhaust, as it doesn't sound "good" when opening it up, plus there was a lot of resonance issues into the cabin.

Who is the recommended go-to for catless downpipes?

Personally, I would recommend catted PPE downpipes. No real reason on a street car to go catless.
