I'm wondering if dumps would look good on an SHO but i havent seen anyone with them. Most of the pics i see, the SHO has its stock looking tips. I'm not a fan of the stock muffler tips lol

Pics of my old car. I'm looking to get rid of the ugly turn downs that are currently on the blue car too  .

I quite liked these, IMHO the angle of the slant is perfect.

This is the only pic I have of mine. I didn't have time before I put it away.

I think turn downs look great on gen 1's. They look OK on Gen 2's, but I feel the Gen 2's just need a screaming tip popping out the back.

Thanks for the pic's guys! I'll have some things to think about over the winter but i might be leaning towards something like DDakRT's pics. Just gives it a meaner look to it.

You cannot see my turndown at all on my '89, I think personally this looks the best on a Gen1.

Sorry don't have a pic. handy.

single ugly ass 3" turndown... the perfect sleeper exhaust. minus the fact that its loud as sin. when i do the corolla build i will do a single 3" as well but will run 2 mufflers and a resonator to cut down on the noise, it wont need to attract any more attention than it already will. except for the 1" screamer pipe i will exit on the passenger side

Perhaps I'm not up on the current vernacular, but the above is a turndown (And a damn nice one I might add...), and there are plenty of pictures of exhaust tips in this thread, but isn't a "dump" a valve placed in the exhaust system, usually well prior to the mufflers and cat, that gives you an open pipe?

Here's a boost-operated dump (bypass) valve prototype built by a company up in Fort Collins, CO.

Proto

No longer a prototype, you can buy it here:

By "dumps" i meant the turndown exhaust tips like on crown vic's. Just a slang term we use to describe that exhaust tip.
