Exhaust Questions Regarding my '93 SHO

Hey how is everybody? I recently was given a 1993 Ford Taurus SHO MTX by my father overall it's in great condition it's my first car and i love it.86k miles,theres a gaping gash in my left muffler and a hole or 2 in my pipe.

My SHO still sounds good but i don't like being robbed of power :swing: so i wanted to replace my entire exhaust system for some add in horse power and a better sound.

But being the only one in my neighberhood with a Gen.2 SHO it's hard to go to anybody for suggestions about what setup to go with.The only thing i'm really worried about is sounding like a 4cylinder Dodge Neon lol ..

I was reading around the forums and you guys definitely know your SHO's maybe you can hint me over to a good sounding series..

Also have any of you put headers on your SHO? i was searching around the net and found Dynomax "Black Jack" headers

Dont buy these headers , when you see that it fits GL tauruses , hold your horses.

Right now the only 2 ways to grab headers is to fabricate them , or buy them a shosource.com (group buy)

Best thing you could do is a high flow y pipe and a dynomax cat-back

whoever had my car before me put flomasters on it and the rest is pretty much custom... it rotted away quick and it's so **** eyed it was done really poorly. I am getting dynomax cat back asap!

i had the dynomax cat back on a 92, it sounded great and was easy to install, while your doing it, definatly get the high flow y pipe. youll be amazed at the difference

get a quote from your local exhaust shop for a 2.5inch catback.
id go with a single exit with a magnaflow muffler and a long resonator. some people use a cherry bomb muffler as a resonator. don't expect any noticeable HP gains,exhasut does very little in that department.
ive had the Dynomax exhaust on one of my SHO's a few years ago and i wasn't very happy with it. the intermediate pipe hangs down too low in the middle of the car and its damn near impossible to get the tips to line up straight in the rear. also you being in NY expect the mufflers to rot out.
