on my 3.2 rwd project the driver side header works perfectly, facing forword in a good area to make it a single tubo. Problem is my passenger side hit the frame and is facing the rear. Now i remember hearing the manifolds were a little different. Is this true?

They are. And there are some differences between the 3.0 and 3.2 manifolds. They should both point down though. Any pictures you can post? Might be easier if you can link to the full size pictures on photobucket or the like.

the 3.2 rear manifold is farther away from the engine, to allow for the larger transmission - so a 3.0 rear manifold might work for you there.

the discharge angle of the 3.2 front is different from the 3.0 front, but otherwise they are more similar than the rears.

any of them will fit on the engine anywhere, so you might end up using 2 front manifolds, for example.

And if you shave off all the heat shield mounting nubs and casting flash, they can be made to look really nice, especially if you Jet-Hot coat them in silver or Near-Chrome.

Tom... you and your chrome.
In my RX7 project I'll be using 2 of the rights / rears.
In doing so both will point rearward.
However, I'll have to use an oil filter relocating kit.

Im just going to take off the "front" manifold.off the drivers side to see how it fits..might end up keeping the heat shields and getting those covered..the look pretty nice..or may have my buddy build me some headers.. just trying to keep the price down. A little bit... pictures soon

the heat shields also polish up pretty nice, it they haven't been all pitted up by corrosion over the years. in my for-sale thread, I have some of the ex manifolds, so let me know if you need anything like that.

Good point.
I cant recall why I was going to do that.
Maybe because it would interfere with the R&P?
I remember switching it out but did not notate why or have photos.
Front or left side.

Rear or right side.

On the buggies that have used the SHO motors and stock exhaust manifolds, they would use the stock under pan pipe from one side and then make a U-turn with the pipe from the other side. In this way both pipes ended up right next to each other. Perfect for a T-3/T-4 ******. The stock exhaust manifolds flow very well. The guy that made my headers said that his wouldn't be able to outflow those until well above 6500 rpm's. And with a turbo or Roots style blower, I'm hardly ever there for long.
