Hello,
I have an 89' MTX. I've just installed new: exhaust from the y-pipe back, a 73mm MAF and k and n air filter, a MAF sensor, a cam shaft sensor, DIS module, starter, and tires.
I'm now getting an error code 81. The code started after the install of the exhaust which I did first. The O2 sensors are probably 7 years old. The only symptom is that I have to try to start it a couple of times, the tach roams, and the car tries to die. This does not kick the code. After it warms up a little, it runs fine except for generating the code somewhere down the road.
The code interpretation according to the book I have is air diverter solenoid fault, air intake control circuit fault / air injection diverter.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
