Correct, the entire filter was redesigned for ease of installation. The pipes are no longer blown out, and the IAT bung was reduced to match the size of our IAT.

I had asked the question over at EB and haven't got an answer, but I noticed that the IAT sensor bulb resides entirely inside the rubber mounting ****** on the filter and not in the path of the air flow like the factory box. Do you think this has any effect on how well it reads?
I chose to cut a little length off mine to allow the bulb to enter inside the filter, it was quick and easy, and possibly not necessary. Also, with no experience with the Gen 1, what are you speaking about in regards to "The pipes are no longer blown out".

it's just a temperature reference sensor, won't matter too much.

the J2fab/EPP Gen 1 intake utilize a 2.75" ID filter but 2.25" pipes, so they had to use a pipe expander to make up the difference. the Gen 2 uses a redesigned filter to not require the expansion.

In now. Be sounds a bit louder than the airaid .
What size weather stripping did you use to top the airbox with?

Also, after initial investigations, did you have to access the rear turbo inlet from the passenger wheel well?

The weather stripping came off of the airaid.

I don't believe the tech went in through the wheel well . The rear wasn't too bad he said. He did have a lot of other fitment issues. Not sure if 2018 was slightly different than the car this was designed around. In the end he got it done and it's all good.

I do note that the sound is in fact different when initially hammering the throttle. Almost sounds like the bov. I believe it's just more air and not plastic absorbing the sound. hope it's ok.

Common I hear with this intake. Still haven't installed mine yet but look forward to more induction noise
