Does anyone know how to reset the code for the door keypad. The owners manual talks about the factory code; it is needed to change the code. I have no factory code.

Chck out the v8SHO website for complete info, but the door code for a GenIII is located on the side of the computer underneath the dashboard.

YOu simply contort your body in ways you never thought possible and find youself looking upwards underneath the driver's side dash. Then, use a compact mirror and quite possibly a small flashlight, look on the side of the computer box, which is silvery-grey. Look for a white label with a 5 digit number in one of the corners. This is the code, try the number both ways, and soon, you'll get it. This code is permanent and there is no way to reset it.

If the label has come off the computer, which I am told does happen, your Ford dealership can read the number out of the computer for you easily. Then you put it on a label and attach it under the trunk lid. All Generations Happy! :)

I had the same problem when I bought my SHO. Unfortunetly the factory card in the owners manual that listed the code was missing.

When I went to my local Lincoln/Mercury dealership they wanted $100 to pull the code from the computer. Those idiots had no clue. I then found out that it is on a sticker on the computer underneath the dash and saved myself some money.

My factory sticker was missing, but the local Ford dealership pulled it out of the computer for me at no cost. Guess it depends a lot on if you have a decent dealership.
