Engine Ticking

I have a 2010 SHO PP with 50,000 on it. I bought it with 42,000 and had to have the right turbo replaced on it 2 days after purchase. It knocks on engine start up, and has a ticking noise that is constant while running. No power loss just very worried this will turn into a bigger issue down the road. I only have 10k left on my power train warranty, but the dealer says its normal. Remarks and opinion welcome?

Some discussion on here re: the oil filter used. Motorcraft generally the best. May not be getting adequate oil flow at startup.

Assumption is it is not the fuel injectors ticking (very routine for GDI).

Sound clip would help.

Yeah a sound clip if possible would be a good idea, but with said they are not very quite motors. lots of clicky noises.

FWIW, My wifes Direct Injection Mazdaspeed 3 is also noisy. So is the was the GTI (Also DI) that I test drove. It ticks like crazy, is even louder during initial startup. I think it is just the nature of the beast.

On other Ford models, the cam phaser on VCT engines has been known to cause the "knocking on startup" problem. Haven't found SHO specific references, but did find truck engine (e.g., Triton) and Mustang engine references. Apparently the pins that hold the phaser to the camshaft bend or shear completely, causing a dull knocking noise.
