To keep it short:
Finished 60k
Started fine, Test Drive, Oil Leak
Remounted back valve cover
Now Engine surges with a high pitch whine and backfires then dies

The only thing i did different was tie back the wires in the area of the CID, checked it out and everything was connected

No codes, ant ideas?

I second the idea...everytime the word backfire comes to mind I always think about spark plugs and wires. That brings back memory of my old garden tractor that backfired a lot before I replaced the spark plug and checked the gap. boink

Also check to make sure you connected the ground wire on back of the engine and that all bolts are tight. I had the same problem after removing and replacing my intake manifold-turns out I had left two bolts loose holding the crossover tube to the lower intake. This caused the DIS module to lose it's ground.

What do u mean wrong bolt. I lost one of my bolts so I went to an Ace Hardware and bought two new bolts, and the car is acting a bit funny now. So, are these bolts a problem...if they are, what type of bolts and where and type do I need to get. Thanx

the bolt that i put there originally was not long enough to make a ground apparently

i think the shorter bolt was supposed to go over by the IAB

i put a longer bolt in there and it solved my problems
