Engine staying at high Idle

I just started having an issue with my idle increasing when the AC is on. I know the the idle kicks up when the AC is on but it increases allot to the point where if I am at a stop light the car doesnt want to stop. I know it is probaly a common issue but not sure what that is. Any help would be great.

I remember something about a recall on the v8 where they replaced the TPS or idle bypass valve. Its been a long time since it happened but I had a friend who's 98 would surge at idle and go as high as 2500 rpm in park or neutral. Whenever it did this, he would disconnect the TPS and IAB connectors, spray them down in electrical parts cleaner and the problem would go away for several months.

There is a list of all recalls and tsbs over on v8sho.com. I had a surging idle problem after a buddy washed down my engine. Replaced the tps. And no more issue. I believe on the 98-99 there is a tsb to replace the connector.

Thank you for clarifying that. Its been like 5 years since we had the issue and I didnt remember the exact problem/recall. I just remembered our cheap monthly fix.
