OK..heres the deal. In the summer my SHO wouldnt run for crap when it was hot out..or it would run good but when I stoped at a store and tried to start it within 5 minutes of stopping..it wouldnt start..or if I went on long trips, it would lose power and die, I would wait awhile and it would start up and I could drive it again. Now here it is winter..it runs good, but sometimes at a stop light it starts to die. I have the feather the throttle to get the RPMs back and then I have to clutch slip the heck out of it to get it goin..its startin to REALLY concern me. Anyone have any ideas? I am going to rip out the engine this spring and completely freshen it up, so I have a perfect (for a SHO!) engine because I have always loved my SHOs and this 89 is one of my babys! Any and all help would be great! Thanks in advance! burnout

I'd start with the basics- the engine needs fuel, spark, and air to run.
Check the engine codes- it will start giving you an indication of what could be wrong. See shotimes.com under "maintenance" to see how to do it for free. (and simple!)
Then do some searches here- keywords might be 'stalling', bad 'idle', etc...

I would recommend checking the fuel pressure the next time it is behaving badly. I used a tire pressure gauge. If you turn the key on, you should hear the fuel pump run for about 2 seconds (1.5 to be exact), your fuel rail should see 40 psi (I saw only 10). If it starts and stays running, you should see 30 psi. Open the throttle a bit and you will see 40 psi. Voltage to the fuel pump should be 12V or more (check by disconnecting the clip on the fuel pump shutoff relay in the trunk: has 2 pink wires going to it.
