Engine Replacement

Hello all first thread here . I have a 2013 PP bought with 60k 2nd owner , I put 32k miles and in that time I replaced ptu , suspension all around ,calipers , water pump and now at 92k+ i need an engine from a spun rod bearing ?? Well i’m looking at options here in Chicago or NWI and I really haven’t found where to order one from , anyone have any leads ?? I got priced at local shops with Jasper Reman for 9k with labor and 3year 100k warranty but should I go with used ? Or new ?

Search Car-Part.com for low mileage used options. 9k for a reman? You’d be better off buying a new block and getting it built with forged pistons and rods, etc for that price.

I agree completely. Sounds like they were pricing a job they didn't want. A brand new short block from Ford is $2200 and at $100, labor is $2420. Even a brand new long block is $5000 leaving almost $1500 for fluids, gaskets, misc. Those are dealer prices on OEM parts without shopping around.

Jasper is $5600 for the long block. Then they priced every option/warranty on top plus labor.
