well, I was driving home today and all of a sudden with no warning the car stopped running. radio, lights, brakes, steering all worked so there was still power. I tried to restart the car while moving (turning key and poping clutch) but nothing happened. I pulled over and stopped and cycled the ignition off then on and it started right up, and no problems the rest of the way home.

Anybody have any ideas? .. maybe fuel pump?

Thanks
Chris

that could be alot of things like crack sencer fuel pump dis but one thing comes to mind is mine kept doing that and it ended up bing my wire harness that goes to my fuel pump was unpluged just enough to die periodicly i even changed my fuel pump ,but its a 155 now so i dont regret it .you can also try listening for your fuel pump when turning the key to the on position next time this happens

No I haven't done the 60k service yet, the car only has 42k original miles.
How much would a crank sensor cost?

Ok .. well I was outside running the car this morning to see if it would stop and after about 6-7 minutes it stopped. I tried to restart it a few minutes later and it won't start. The engine is trying to turn over but it doesn't seem to be getting any fuel. What should I check? and how do I check it?

Thanks
Chris

I had a similar problem with my 95' and it ended up being the idle air solanoid. If it wont start for you but it will turn over take a wrench and hit the idle air solanoid and then try starting it. Dont beat the **** out of it and dont hit it like it will break either. If it starts replace it.

After 6-7 mnutes your water pump probably started leaking and the hot coolant was dripping on your crank sensor causing it to cut the engine.

justin mccluske: I was listening for the fuel pump and sometimes I would hear it and sometimes I wouldn't, but either way the car wouldnt restart. I actually tried restarting it about an hour later and it started right up

wood_e: Tommorow I'm going to try running the car again and see if there is any dripping under there or not.

DVJ38: Yeah, I pulled them and got 111 for both KOEO and KOER. I did have some stored codes though. For the KOEO I got 542 and 211. For KOER I got 225, 226, and 167

Ok, What Now!! .. I was taking a look at the CPS and I took the top 2 connectors apart to make sure they just weren't dirty or whatever... they had some dirt in them so I was cleaning them out with a rag and all of a sudden the fan comes on and wouldn't stop. So I put the connectors back together and tried cycling the car on and off to stop the fan. Well it stopped when the car was off, but as soon as I turned the car back on it turned back on again. I also noticed the Fuel Pump isn't turning on at all anymore. I took the battery cables off hoping to reset the computer and the fan is still turning on and the fuel pump isn't starting. I also tried to pull the codes again and it doesn't seem to get past the fan test, so I never got to actually see what, if any, codes there were.

Anyway .. Any help will be much appretiated.
