There will at least be after pics. I didn't think to take any before pics as I was too busy being ****** off at my broken intake bolts.

I'll see if I can dig up old pics, but pretty much it was the dirtiest, grimiest, yet still running SHO engine I've seen.

Here is mine. Engine paint without clear. The intake was gloss black and the valve covers are flat black.

Those brackets are unnecessary. I ground the mounting bosses off of my project intake, along with all the EGR crap.

My brackets are still there. The bolt holding one of them on fell into my yard while I was replacing my alternator (took it off to get to a different bolt). That was in December. So yeah I'm pretty sure those brackets are, in fact, mostly useless.

One of the bolts on one bracket is stripped beyond conventional means of removal. When I drill out the busted bolts from my intake I'll just drill the thing out.
I didn't want to have to get a new bolt for that bracket, otherwise I would have taken it out sooner.

I'll get some pics of all my stuff installed when I get my SHO Source valve cover bolt grommets!

I sprayed the runners gold, the plenum silver, and the valve covers gold. I'm also working on various other things going to silver, like coil bracket, MAF, TB, accessories and brackets... etc

for the price of powdercoating, I can paint my intake like 10 times..... and with the paint I used it looks just as good.

Figure Ill piggy back off this thread instead of starting a new one.
My intake is the victim of a botched paint job and currently looks like shit, what color should I look for that matches the original goldish silver of the stock finish?

Check out your local Advance, they've got tons to choose from. I doubt you'll find an exact match, but if you go with aluminum and lightly spray gold so that you get really light, and uniform, gold specks. Personally, I wouldn't try too hard to get the original color back, if you want something that just looks clean then go with the aluminum alone and maybe hit it with some clear coat when you're done.

I have a can and a half or so of a custom batch someone had made up in '98 or so. SHO engine on the label, 500 degree paint.

Anyone remember who did this batch? The color is a nice match to factory.
