Engine oil & filters

I read a pretty good article on the forum about this subject, but was just wondering what you guys thought and if anyone had any real preference for either regular oil compared to the synthectics. What type of filters is everyone using? Just looking for some input on this. Thanks.

It's Valvoline Synthetic 5w-30, and either the K&N or Mobil 1 filter, whichever is in stock at the time.
