Okay, I have finally got the new(er) engine in my car, but am having a small problem.

I am sure I wired everything back up correctly, and all the hoses and bolts are all back in place... but the car is just not firing.

The plugs are sparking.
There is fuel flowing, I can smell it quite distinctly, but it is not burning.
I added new fuel and plugs today, just to make sure that is not the problem.

The starter is cranking the engine fine... but nothing is happening, it barely sounds liek it is trying to start.

For starers, I think I am going to run the codes (but forgot the link, so if anyone can help me there, it would help). But other than that, I don't know what to do... it's pretty mysterious to me.

Thanks for any input.

~Andy.

Since you didn't mention it backfiring, let's just pretend the valve timing is on. How did you check for spark? Does the CE light come on when you turn the key to run? Does the tach move to about 300-400 rpm when cranking?

Thansk for replying Slo-Sho.

You are correct, there is no backfire (or any fire for that matter). The timing should have been fine anyways.

Check Engine light does come on when the accessories are on, but not while the engine is cranking.
Tach is at about 400 RPM when cranking also.

Any ideas?

Double check the ground on your DIS module, as well as the ground strap for the intake. If either one of these things isn't making very good contact, it can cause the same problem you're having.

Okay, one other thing I have thought of... I kept the old fuel rails in the car, but replaced the injectors with the newer ones... could clogged injectors be the problem?
