We have a bad engine miss in our '92 SHO. I posted on here before about it and nobody seemed to know anything, but now I have new information. We ran the codes again with one of the computers that you hook your car up to(not the self test), and it returned 3 codes to us. First one was a clutch petal, second was something with the fuel pump, and the third was saying that coil 3 was bad. The mechaniac said that the first and second one had nothing to do with the problem at stake, but the third one didnt make sense because we just installed a new coil pack correctly about a month earlier.

We also installed new plugs and check the plug wires which came out to be good, so we're pretty lost on what we could do about this car. It doesnt always miss at the exact same time, like starting up the car. The misses seem to be totally random, from just slowing down at a traffic light, to just crusin' around. Sometimes they last only a minute, and sometimes they wont go away until you turn off the car. If you know any tips on what we could do, please let me know.
btw, the engine has 145k miles on it and runs great when the engine isnt missing.

could you post the actual codes that were retrieved so that some of the SHO gods could attempt to interpret them for you..... i would imagine you will get better results from the forum that way

All of the errors I recieved either have nothing to do with it or are pointing to something we already replaced, like the coil pack. Could the problem possibly be the timing belt and/or the crankshaft sensor?

okay, here are the codes that came up:

525 Park/Neutral Position (PNP) or Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) circuit fault

542 Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on
(i think it was this one, it was related to the fuel pump)

217 Primary circuit failure - ignition coil 3

those are the three that I got from the mechaniac. I'm going to go pull the more recent codes tomorrow, and I can post them if you want me to. Btw, I replaced the coil pack with a new one, dont know why the error is still showing up. plugs are new and wires are good.
