well, hello again everyone. first let me say a huge thanx in regards to my last post, "engine not revvin right." i wrote about a week ago how my engine stopped revvin up in between 2k and 2500 rpm's. u guys really helped me trouble shoot and i managed to figure out that it was a bad throttle position sensor. after i replace that it ran like a ***** ape. ok, now for the second thing. another problem i have experienced was a bad alternator so i payed way too much for a new one and the post on it broke loose so i exchanged it for another one. the new one i went on with no problem, hooked everything up correctly only to take a trip 50 miles from home this afternoon and find that it still wasnt charging my battery. luckilly we hooked up jumper cables to my friends pickup and let it run for about 40 minutes. that charged it up to get it home. here is my question...what could make the alternator not charge the battery?? is the only thing it could be is a bad alternator or could something else not be workin which could cause the alternator not to do its job?? for example could the voltage regulator be bad and make it not charge? one thing i noticed is that there is a smaller wire sitting beside my solenoid that looks like it should be on the solenoid but its not. its about a 12-14 gauge wire and i dont know where to put it at all.
sorry about being longwinded but i wanted to be thorough in my problem because i know if anyone can crack this case, its u guys. thanx again and have a great nite.
