Gang,

My 95 MTX with 66K miles (no service yet) has a tendancy to overheat (I am thinking stuck thermo since it stays inside normal but right about the first line during normal operations) when setting in HEAVY stop and go traffic or just sitting (takes much long when just setting). The engine fan turns on but quites after 3 or so seconds. Is the temp sensor for the fan bad or any ideas ? I figure the fan should be okay since it does turn on, it just doesn't stay on long enough to be effective.

Thanks for the help !

Mine did that over the summer and it was the temp sensor for the fan. I believe it is the same sensor that tells the computer how hot/cold the engine is. Mounted on thermostat housing and was like $20 or so.

The Constant Control Relay Module,,,CCRM,,controls the power to the fan, it receives its commands from the computer,,,PCM,,,Powertrain Control Module.
