I may as well start from the beginning, I got my 93 SHO automatic last September and the check engine light has been on ever since I got it for EGR and O2 but it seemed to run fine up until a few weeks ago. It died in an intesection one day and after finally getting it started I made it to the nearest mechanic a few blocks away and it died in their parking lot. They call me back the next day and say they need to replace the CCRM, the day after they replaced it, it died on me at another intersection. The mech tows it back to their shop and says they have been driving it around for three hours and cannot duplicate problem. So I drove it straight home after picking it up from work and parked it. A week after I decided to start it and let it idle in the driveway and it died about 25 minutes later, it will start back up after it cools down. I replaced the EGR and the DPFE with used parts (I know those could be bad too, but I'm trying anyway) I don't think that's the problem with the stalling out, but what do I know. I just let it sit and idle tonight and it died after about 25 minutes, I was able to start it back up right after and keep it running as long as I was giving it a little gas. I turned it off and tried stating it about an hour later and it wont start up, I'll see if it starts tomorrow. Please let me know If you know what it could be, any and all help is appreciated.

On the ignition side, the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) is a likely culprit. You may have a slightly leaky water pump dripping coolant on it. On the fuel side, it could be the fuel pump cutting out...the shop was probably thinking in that direction when they replaced the CCRM. After it quits, check the fuel pressure schrader valve on top of the intake. Pressing it should give a strong shot of fuel if the system is working.

How hard is it to replace the water pump and crank sensor? The previous owner told me that he did that (it does look like a new pump). Is the crank sensor very expensive?

I don't see any coolant on the ground where it's parked and the radiator is full also. Could the IAC be bad? Or would that matter?

I try to post but nothing comes up, WHY? In what I posted yesterday that never got put up, I tried saying that the crank sensor and water pump have been replace by the previous owner. It doesn't leak any coolant, do you still think it's the crank sensor? Also how hard is it to change that sensor? How do you get to it?

I have my car at a mechenic and they told me today over the phone that it was the ignition control module that was bad, they said they could tap on it and the car would die. I went in there after work asking them to show me and they started it and tapped the module and it didn't die, so now they are confused too after wanting me to have them order a $200 part. I'm getting really fed up with them and this car. Do you guys still think it's the crank position sensor?? That's what I had told them was posted on here and they told me it would show a code for that.

Dude it happened to my 94 ATX the same as you are describing , CRANK POSITION SENSOR. Mine showed the code after replacing everything under the hood that was not the problem!!!! I had to have mine towed . Mine shut off in the middle of road construction and it was blocking the only lane open.it would not start period.95 degrees outside so I pushed it out of the way.them cars are heavy up small incline , I could not back up in traffic..my crank sensor was not bad from a leaking water pump either ,I fixed it my self @ my friends shop .It just went south and it is located behind your CRANK pulley, you will need a puller to get to it ,and adjust the gap also. Let the pro's fix it if you cant get the right tools for the job. I am sure there are pictures in here some where to help you further. Fix the crank sensor man, very common problem...I am guessing it may cost you 200.00 total if the tech is any good, time is money. If my memory serves me correct I payed 85.00 2 yrs ago so im sure it is closer to 100.00 now. Hope it solves your problem .

Listen to what we are telling you. CPS. Try this first as all the signs are pointing to this as the culprit.

Thanks a lot guys, I'll replace it. The internet is so much more knowledgable than a lot of the mechanic shops. I'll let you all know how it turns out, but you guys probably already know, lol. Again thanks for your help so far.

There's alot of info on the sho at various sites. Bookmark them. You will need them if you plan on keeping the car. Classic crank sensor symptoms.

I had the same problem on my '93 Sho and I replaced the TBS and it stopped stalling. In fact it never stalled again!
