i was looking at the DC2 or CD2, forget which combo of the letters it was, the other day and noticed it said to spray off the initial treatment with water. ive read from people on here that water in the engine area gave em major problems and thats why i didnt buy it. i know SHO2NV uses it and was wondering if he had ahd any problems or if there were things he did to make sure he didnt have problems?

I caution you. Do not use water on the SHO engine's electronics or you will risk engine control problems. It can do much more harm than good.

How do you guys manage to drive in the rain?
I agree a pressure washer wouldn't be a wise idea, but I've had a garden hose in there more times then i can count, it gets dirty, I just don't concentrate a hard spray at anything electrically scary looking.

I have friends that spray down their engine bays (none who own SHOs) that just cover up any electronics with plastic bags and allow the car to sit before driving. They never have problems, but then again I don't know these cars at all, sdpatt is an expert and he's the one you should be listening to.

Why can't you spray down your home computer? I can't see it doing any harm. I just washed min.&( and ~@IO( D(UDA"""{g['aj++;t

LOL! I use the GT2 detail kit, however I don't use the cleaner part of it. I use a damp rag to wipe the engine down and then I use the final spray over the engine. I do cover up the alternator and other electronic parts to protect them from the spray. Better safe than sorry. Never ever use running water on your engine. You'll regret it.

Driving in the rain does not cause water to flow water around the electronics. That is why there are splash shields in the fenderwells. The A/C condenser and radiator catch most of the moisture that makes it through the small forward openings in the grill.

I just returned from Houston to Dallas (260 miles) in a deluge of rain. I opened the hood to clean the upper engine areas with a rag and found almost no evidence of water spots. The only ones were near the base of the windshield. Driving in the rain is cleaner for the engine because there is no dust on the road.

I took the inner fenders out of my car a long time ago cause it was slammed so close that the tires were rubbing, and I guess being that low is what could have got more water in there. But I know water got in there cause I always had water spots everywhere.
Then there was my tracker, I drove in the old welland canal one time, my shifter was underwater, any deeper and I would have needed a snorkel.

Just a garden hose. I don't keep it on there long, just enough to rinse the cleaner off. I've used it twice with no problems, maybe I got lucky. If you follow the directions you shouldn't have any trouble. Just look how good it turns out.
