Wow...mine has never been stuck on that tight. A tiny dab of **** is a good idea though. I did that to my airbox capture points since it always seemed to be stuck on very tightly.

Good idea, but mine only goes on for car shows.

Although Brian only puts his on for car shows....

What is of real concern, is what he takes OFF at/during car shows!

Yikes! ****covers eyes****

Not realy, I'm running without one now. I would think any kind would probably work. White lithium, dielectric, or just general purpose grease if there is such a thing. How about petroleum jelly? Those guys posting before this one sound like they may need some.lol.

lolol... Vasoline FTW. I'd suggest any lubricant that isn't known to damage plastic or rubber, but IMO silicone spray would do nicely since that's the lubricant you're supposed to use on your weatherstripping, so it would definitely not hurt the plastic.

Yes, 100% agree. Silicon spray would work and not damage rubber and plastic.

I thought I'd run without it just fine, not be bothered by breaking a useless part of my car. Wrong. After 2 days I ordered another one. The diesel noise from the fuel system was louder and bothered me. It looked so ***** under the hood my ocd got the best of me again. New, oem, ebay $85. Ocd can be costly at times. Part just came in. Look at difference. 20160317 100038 zpsu1yk5ojr The old one has neoprene molded around components. New one has insulation crap on it. Fitment sucks. It's too fluffy to seat down on capture points. Especially with fresh silicone spray it just pops back off. With careful removal, the one way fasteners holding this to the cover are reusable.20160317 103810 zpsx6tepnqs
Switched backing material. Fits nice like the original now.:)

So that's what the new OEM looks like? I need to take the cover off my new 16 and see what it looks like.
