I just saw the trunk leak thread and it made me think of my problem. My engine compartment seems to get very wet when it rains out. Everything seems to be sealed ok from the top, so is it most likely water from underneath the car spraying up? I had some major problems with water before the winter where it actually got all over the valve covers and seeped into the plug wells. I had a crappy set of aftermarket plug wires on there so I knew they weren't making a good seal like the stock Motorcraft wires. Picked up a set of Motorcraft wires and just changed the front 3 to see if it fixed the problem when it rained. No more water got in the plug wells but I still found a lot of water in the engine compartment when it rained. Any ideas on the most likely source of all the water? Thanks.

Have you ever cleaned the rain gutters for the sunroof and doors that run down the front of the car? Open the hood and the two front doors. Look for dirt, pine needles, debris, whatever, that are clogging the channels so rain can't get through. Use a thin piece of wire (coat hanger is good) to push it all out. I say these might be clogged because the water is most likely running down the channels of the hood instead of the rain gutters and getting all over your engine compartment.

There is a gasket that seals the back hood that runs the full length across the lip of the wiper valence. this could be missing entirely or lifted off the lip in the center. This gasket is important and will cause the plug wells to get wet and arc after a car wash or heavy rain.

Thanks for the replies. My 95 MTX doesn't have the moonroof so I'll skip that step, but I'll definitely checkout the door gutters. As for the rear seal under the hood, it's there but the corners tend to keep moving on me. They tend to pull forward away from where they are supposed to be. Thanks again for the replies I'll have to take another look.
