Did you have any trouble separating the engine from transmission? I am trying to swap my transmission right now and I have the subframe on the floor like in your pictures. I think I got all of the bell housing bolts out but it doesn't seem to want to come off. I am trying to remove the transmission without removing the ptu because I believe I have all of the bell housing bolts out around it and it would be much easier getting the ptu off and switched to the new transmission once its separated from the engine. I also can't seem to get to 1 ptu bolt without getting the bracket off and I took all of the bracket bolts out but it does not seem to want to come out so I decided to try to pull the transmission with it still attached. Maybe I need to completely remove that turbocharger bracket?
I have been doing my best to follow the transmission removal procedure from the Factory Ford workshop manual. The workshop manual assumes you will remove the transmission by lowering it down from inside the car and I like you have the whole subframe engine/transmission assembly down on the floor so not everything is the same especially access beneath the subframe. I took the whole thing out because I needed to replace my waterpump as well. I'm on the home stretch here but I'm struggling getting this transmission off a lot more than I expected.
