Hi,
I just can't seem to get torn away from this SHO I keep looking at, and the guy is offering it for quite a nice price. I was curious if anyone could tell me the real meaning behind an engine code. 542 is the code, and it says that it means "Fuel pump secondary circuit failure." However, the car still runs fine, and I am curious as to what this code really means. The cylinder balance test comes out fine, and it may need a new ECT sensor, but all else tests out.

Thanks,
Zap

I had that code before. It always comes on after you stall the car. I would clear the codes and retest. It should be fine then.

Just for the record, you clear the codes by removing the jumper while the codes are being output. Just turn the ignition OFF after the first test, then back ON to start a second test. While the codes are being displayed, pull the jumper.
