Hi everyone,

I bought a new underhood light bulb and yet I still get no illumination under there. All teh fuses are alright, and everyhting that shares that fuse works fine.

Any ideas?

do you have a meter, or a test light?

First thing to do is to find out if power is actually getting to the light socket... wink

I believe that inline, between the fuse panel, and the light is a mercury switch... more than likely, the switch is your problem

Check to see that the wire from the hood is plugged in, it's on the right near the Master cylinder. It's the only wire coming from the hood.

Mine had a bad wire going in to the bulb socket. Temp fixed it by cleaning wire and shoving it back in and wrapping w/electrical tape.

Mine doesn't work and I found out why. The actual bulb socket had corrosion in it and started to get in to the wires too. The one wire broke off from being so corroded, so now I need to get another socket and wire it on to the existing leads the run to the hood. When will I get around to it? Probably never - I'm so lazy with this car sometimes...
