Engine bay cleaning

Greetings fellow SHO brother and SHO sisters recently I went out of town where I drove through a series of dirt roads that made SHOfia one dirty girl.

My engine bay looks like it's been through a sand storm so wanted to know what's the proper way to throughly clean the entire area under the hood.

Also has anybody flushed out their fuel line for a good cleaning? I have a 2010 and I am thinking about doing that. It feels like it's running s bit sluggish so maybe that will help.

After covering exposed electrical components like the alternator, battery, etc., you can pre-treat the engine bay with a gentle cleaner like Simple Green or an automotive specialty product like 303, let it sit a while, then hose it off and let dry thoroughly. A blower like Metrovac helps the drying process, but keep it on the lowest setting so as not to force water into every crevice.

As far as fuel cleaning, most people only run Techron or BG 44K through the gas tank. Cleaning the fuel rail is a more intensive process and really can't be addressed by these products. Only a pro can do that. Haven't heard of the fuel rail being an issue on these engines though. But using high quality fuel is a must. If you want to get the injectors professionally cleaned/balanced, you can definitely have that done, but removal/installation is time-consuming.

Simple Green works great but don't use it on aluminum parts because this product can speed up the corrosion process.
