Emergency Break Light

Every once in a while my emergency break light will flash on and off for a second. It happens once every few days and I'd like to know what's going on.

Check your brake fluid level. If it is low then you also need new pads.

I checked today, my brake fluid level is fine. Is there anything else this could be?

Sometimes the brake pedal support bends a bit and can let the light flash or stay on. You can rebend it, IIRC. I have not had this happen to the SHO, but it has happened on other cars and that was the fix when it was not the brake fluid level.

Another problem I have is that my brake lights turn off when I have the brake pushed like halfway down. If I lightly tap it's on, and all the way down it's on, but midway it's off. I wasn't worried about this before, but could these be intertwined?

The switch on the e-brake pedal might be made for some reason too.

The fluid level sensor inside of the Master Cylinder may be giving a false reading or possible bad module.
Does ABS light flicker too?You can get it self tested to get and pull memory codes from the module.

I also think there was a recall on brake switch's around that year.the swich looked like a square box on pedal.i'll look into it.

this reminds me of a few questions i've had about my car that might be related. for a while i've noticed that the emergency brake light comes on on the dash when i'm accelerating. i've seen people post with the same problem before, but i don't remember anyone replying with a reason that it happens.

also, i set my emergency brake all the time when i'm parked and i've noticed that when it's released the wire hangs down enough that you can see it without getting under the car. do other people have this problem?

on another unrelated matter, does anyone know where exactly the chime is under the dash?
