So this morning I get into my car and everything is working perfectly. I always engage when parking. Just a habit from manual cars. I go to leave my dental appointment and once I get to my friends house the damn thing is not ratcheting and locking and now the “ebrake” light is constantly on. Put the car in drive and and held the ebrake down and it engaged and didn’t allow the car to move. I’m leaning towards the lever mechanism going bad. Thoughts? And no warranty left. Just 5k left on powertrain.

You never know, it might just need to be lubed. The rachet down, and then release, the ratchet "pawl" (or whatever it's called) might be stuck in the up position. Not sure why the light would be on if the pedal comes all the way back up. Did you try pulling up on the pedal to see if the light would go out?

Haven’t tried that yet. Pretty much put her in the garage as I had another appointment I had to get to.
