how do you adjust the emergenct brake? I went under the back of the drivers door and turned that screw with the 13mm nut. I got my pedle in the car to be tight about 2/3 of the wya down but i can still free spin my right rear brake(havent even tried the left yet). Do i have to put the car down on the ground and drive it or something for the adjustment to take effect? When i put the pedle down it seems lie kthe cable is pullign the ebrake springs and assembly all the way back but the caliper isnt doing anything.

Either the calipers are sticking or more than likley a cable is stuck.
The cable is pulling the assembly I can see the assembly move when i put the brake down. And the calipers work because last time i drove the car i checked to see of they were all hot and they were. Im stumped.

You're not the only one with this problem. I have an almost identical problem with my right rear caliber not engaging. I just spent a few hours taking off both calipers and making sure all was well. I sprayed penetrating oil in the cables and work the little "levers" on each caliper. The left held nicely, but the right had no hold. I removed the return spring from the lever and lubed everything. Now the parking brake pedal barely goes down so it feels very tight. I have no idea what is going on. Anybody have suggestions???

my cable is not seized I think i have issues with my caliper, because when i look at the caliper and have someone step on the ebrake i see the cable pull all the way back. Its very wierd why it wouldnt work. I think my right side caliper might be bad. Im in the process of determining if it is or not.

cable isnt stretched eather because like I said I can see it pull all the way down at the caliper so it has to be something with the caliper.

I just finished resolving my caliper problem; turns out it was a sticking right rear parking brake cable. I initially diagnosed it was a bad caliper and after replacing it ($60-NAPA) and applying the parking brake the wheel still spun. That pretty much made it clear that the only remaining element was the cable ($16-NAPA) which it was. Even if I could have adjusted it I could not because the adjustment nut was frozen and would not budge. So, for about $80 I now have a new caliper and cable and a functioning parking brake! Try the cable first since it is the cheapest investment and is pretty easy to replace. Good luck!
