I had a 93 SHO that the electronic overdrive had a mind of its own, it would go on and off will driving down the road. Never got that fixed, car was stolen and smashed up. My new 94 the electronic overdrive button does not work at all, but at least I have my overdrive gear working. What could the problem be, and should I just leave it the way it is, in my 93 it was a real pain!?

just replace the switch, IT PULLS OUT THE SIDE!!! I put that in bold because when I replaced mine, I took the darn shifter out and ripped the wires out, so I tried to fix em right? well the buttconnectors were getting caught on the shift indicator or something and it tore em out again. So I had to replace the **** (not cheap from ford 115.00!) so I learned my lesson the hard wayl just pull it outta the side. A good set of needlenose pliers will do the trick perfectly. when you put it back in there are copper strips that you will have to fit in these grooves, just don't force it, they will bend, that again I learned the hard way, hey PM me if you need, the switch from ford was like 25.00 I think. Good luck, let me know if you need anything else :thumb:

firs b4 u got that way check to see if it is shorting anywhere. iirc the switch is just an interrupter and thats what sets it either way, or check to see if urs is cut....... mine was cut by the dumb@$$es that were too lazy to disconnect the harness 3 inches away from where they cut it.....

Go to www.shotimes.com and look in the FAQ. You may have to pull the cover off the center console if the switch is still good. Go get yourself a nice plastic screwdriver and pop the top portion of the cover off (after you take out the screw in the cupholder). Then you can find the thin, flimsy wires that connect to that switch. Chances are one of them is shorted.

Or, you can just break stuff like Nate. Whatever's your pleasure. :D
