Electrical Problems

On my way home, my sho lost the functions of the radio and the stock digital clock. This occured after hitting some bumpy roads. The radio antenna stayed up, no radio at all. The window buttons do work. Th sho parked and turned off, I press the unlock button, the parking/fog lights momentarily turns on. When any doors are open, the interior lights do not work.

I havent been able to check out anything at all, its dark out. I may have blown a fuse, but pressing the door unlock button is turning on the parking/fog lights, this doesn't make sense.

Anyone has this problem before?

get your battary and alternater checked out...if these are intermitant (they work sometimes) problems, then i would say for sure batt. or alt.

you can get them tested cheap if not free. some places want you to take them out though.

be sure to check your fuses though...thats always a good starting point

In addition to the above, do you have an aftermarket (or Ford) alarm or keyless entry system? This isn't including the keypad on the driver's door.

That's a good observation, what if the sho did have one? I mean, where do you think the prob is originating from the aftermarket item?

You probably blew a fuse.

Most likely, something in the stereo (or other aftermarket device) harness wasn't properly insulated (assuming an aftermarket unit) and it shorted to ground when you hit a bump.

It is highly improbable that the battery or alternator would cause a fault in one specific circuit.

Don't have my desktop with all the circuit diagrams up at the moment, so I can't tell you what fuse to specifically check. F34 sounds familiar (or is that for the Contour....can't recall).
