I'm still sorting out an electrical issue, I have a problem with loosing settings on the radio and the keyless entry system on my 89. Every so often the audio settings (bass/treble) and the custom keyless entry code that I set reset even though the battery has not been disconnected, or lost power. I've even had the radio reset while driving.

I'm wondering what might cause this? Also had an ongoing problem with the cid circuit setting code 19, 91 and another for defaulting to 10 degrees timing. Could the power issue be affecting the engine control as well? And a bucking stumbling problem. Remeber someone speaking of a module in the column or dash that controls switching on the power.

Before you suggest cam or crank sensors, they have been replaced along with dis, coil pack, computer, ccrm, plugs and wires...hoping that before I spend the time to replace the harness for the engine that someone might have an idea.

I had the Timing Default crap before and it was a faulty MAF check that out try unplugging the MAF and driving it and see if that makes any difference. As for the Radio, Key less entry might be a ground issue but not sure exactly...

the settings with the radio disapperaing means your hot wire leading to your head unit has a short or the head unit is going out. even if the ignition is off and the radio is off you still have power to the head unit. is i a aftermarket and your ***

it's a factory radio, so thats why I asked to see if the two issues might be related. Would a bad mass air cause cid circuit faults? not sure what the *** stuff is about

I'll check out the mass air, seems odd that a bad mass air would cause cid circuit faults.

looks like problem may be fixed. Logic module was replaced, kept setting erronious code, but after replacing module still set 19 and 91. Shop found a tsb that a bad iac can set cid faults, and since I saw the post here about the bad mass air setting cid faults, had both parts checked. Both were very dirty, and were cleaned by the shop. No more code 19, and 91 turned out to be some minor damage to the wiring harness. Seems that the 89 Sho is happy now. I have been battling this problem for almost 2 years.
