Skippie,

Be very careful!!! I changed mine out 6 months ago and it broke free right away, but my car was from N.C. driven to WI. No snow and rust!!! Spray the dam thing good, but don't drench it!!! Let it sit for a 1/2 hour or so and then try. Heat is not the best-It's an aluminum engine. If you have to use heat not very LONG at all!!!!! I hope this helps.

As said before, spray it well with penetrant. Heat shouldn't be a problem if you remove the entire EGR line from the car. There are two 12mm bolts that hold the bottom ****** to the number 3 exhaust manifold runner. These can be accessed from laying on top of the intake manifold and reaching down and around the back and rear side of the engine. I had to remove ACV1081's EGR line when we found the weld breken at the ****** during his valve gaping job.

Easy way to test... put a length of 1/8" vac tube on the ****** that's on the EGR valve. Apply a vacuum to the tube (suck on it) and your car should run VERY poorly while the EGR is engaged. If your idle is unchanged, try to return your new $55 egr because it's in good condition and you need to clean your manifold.
