Chances are the old EGR valve was fine. The 332 problem generally arises when the EGR plumbing in the intake becomes clogged with carbon.

You'll need to clean out the EGR 'nostrils' in the intake. If you search the forum for nostrils, or 332, you should find various methods for doing this.

But did you get in the EGR ducts? I had to do this about a month ago, it pas packed solid with black garbage...as it is exhaust going through a tiny little tube.

Go here....and do it, it look me in total about 40 minutes, mostly cause i'm kinda **** about when cleaning something, clean it right.

I found that mine was so gunked up i needed a small length of wire to help poke through enough just so the cleaner could seap through.

as noted in steve's trouble shooting guide, clean the EGR nostrils out well...

mine turned out to be a faulty DPFE sensor...
The point of my troubleshooting guide was to find out what is causing the 332, then fix it insted of stabbing in the dark at likely targets.

I had wasted a half a day on pulling that 94's intake only to find there was nothing wrong with it. I also found the problem to be a DPFE. That is why I wrote the troubleshooting guide since most suggestions for resolving this code blindly recommend the intake cleaning.

No, please go read my troubleshooting guide. Please also go read the tech bulletin article I provided.

The component that the vacuum line connects to the EGR valve is the EVR (EGR Vacuum Regulator).

That may be true, but I haven't seen any intakes that didn't need a good cleaning except mine EH intake. The gunk doesn't seem to stick to the EH intake.
