This morning I put new O2 sensors and a new MAF on my 93 ATX. I reset the comptuer and everything was going fine untill the CEL came on. So i got it home, and it's acting fine. So I hook everything up for the EEC test to see what the CEL was for. First it gives me a 111, and then durring the repeat, i hear the fuel pump kick on and the test stops. I check my connections, it seems fine, so i get back in, and now the test won't even start. Check my connections again, now it starts again, and gives me the 111, and a 5 from the stored codes. So i start the car, and it stabilizes, and then drops to about 500rpms and starts chugging like only half the engine is running. WTF?! So I repeat the above process several times, untill I finally get a 54 from stored codes. There are only two codes that start with 54 and both are for the fuel pump. So, i check my fuel pressure, it's DEAD-ON perfect, even when the engine is chugging and gasping for life.
So wha the ****? Why is the fuel pump kicking ona nd interrupting the test?
