ECT sensor specifications....voltage, resistance etc.

I can't find out the electrical characteristics of the ECT sensor which supplies the signal to the PCM (not the one that controls the temp gauge).

I placed a new one in the freezer and then measured the resistance between the 2 pins which was 0 ohms. Then placed the brass tip in boiling water for about 3-4 minutes and still got a 0 ohm reading.

Was expecting to find out the sensor is a thermistor and would report different resistance variations or that it was a thermal switch and would report 0 at one end and infinity at the other.

Anyone know what readings to expect?

FWIW, these are the voltages that all '89-'95 V6 PCMs expect to see from the ACT/ECT sensor(s):



As you can see from the graph above, the factory V6 SHO values differ slightly from the "generic" values given by FFI.com.
