What are you talking about? The coolant temp sender? The upper one (1 wire) or the lower (2 wire) one? If you can't use a wrench use a deep socket.

One inch deep socket. You can get to it with a open ended wrench. I changed mine out last weekend due to a code. They dont need to be crazy tight. Took a whole 5 minutes, I didnt remove anything, I didnt even drain the coolant I just swapped it out quick.

On my car, the harness pigtail to the ECT was twisted in a way that made the harness very tight (probably from the factory that way). Once I got it disconnected from the ECT and straightened out, I used a piece of wire run vertically up through the intake and secured to pull the harnesses out of the way while I used a 1" socket to remove the ECT.
