As for tuning for economy, I have not seen it in this community of tuners but I have read about tuning for ultra fuel economy. For example, some tuners will alter your AFR to 16-18:1 when at high speed, low throttle, low load. I have seen it give a C6 vette over 40mpg avg with no other mods. This would of course only work for a hwy trip.

I'm trying to tune for lspi and drivability which is similar benefits. Also trying to tune the grille shutters for economy.

That's like watching **** for the storyline.
Mash the throttle, spray the bottle and rip that thing.
Otherwise get a corolla and put an aero kit on it

Sounds like the crowd that used to meet at the Diner around here back in the day. I wanted to stop and check out the whips but there were too many stupid looking ones and I figured naaah.

Just knowing this exists makes me extremely depressed.
It shouldn't, the fuel map was only ultra lean in the top gear between a certain speed range. Meaning if the vette was driven spirited, it would perform.

My STS turbo 85 corvette used to get high 30's (37-39) mpg on the regular, that was tuned by Hi-tech motorsports. That was many many years ago though, still miss targa top!

For the record. Got my car back today, and I’m loving it. I was driving my wife’s accord for a week, which got me thinking about whether anything could be done to increase the sho’s economy, but I will never do that at the cost of performance. I won’t say her car is terrible... but I’m happy to have mine back. If i can get my car to the point where I feel all of the weak links are mitigated, I’ll might think about a proper performance tune.

I got the PTU gear oil changed too, and the car feels way smoother. Catch can showed up on my porch today, so that’s next. That said, since my car went 141k without new ptu fluid. I may still consider doing a PTU core exchange with certified transmission. I’ll make a decision on that when they let me know if they’ll do it, and how much it would cost.
