I’m trying to determine if my SHO that I recently purchased has a tune. It didn’t come with a tuner so idk. I’ve attached a picture of the ECM data and was hoping if anyone has any information. IMG 5270

That appears to be a standard calibration. Other than being lowered, what makes you think it may be tuned?

It has H&R springs and it has a Livernoise CAI. It may not have anything else done but it also shifts firm and it just feels quicker than I expected. Yes, I’ve had many fast cars… this is not one of them but it’s quick.

Your best bet is to check the MAP sensor on the intake manifold. A tune would likely require a MAP sensor change. This is a picture of an OEM sensor.

I’ve checked that and it appears to be an OEM MAP. I’ve been told that the 2.5 bar has the same part number as the 2 bar, which I don’t understand how that could be true unless they’re modified.

It shifts real firm. It will bark the front wheels and get wheel hop when it hits 2nd at full throttle. Would a factory tuned SHO do that? I guess that could just be bad mounts though.

I had a modified 07 TL Type-S that is supposed about as quick before the mods, 0-60 5.5 vs 5.2 with the SHO having the slight edge. But this SHO feels quicker than that. The TL definitely stopped much better (Brembo) but it would lose to the SHO in a drag race. I know, apples and oranges but numbers tell the story.

I’d prefer it was stock, actually, so I’ll notice a profound change once I start modifying it. I guess I’ll just wait until I get a tuner and that’ll tell me all I need to know. I have some audio questions as well but I’ll post in the correct thread for that. I thank everyone for your help.

I will say that I really like these H&R springs. I never got to drive a stock SHO but I can’t imagine that it would handle like a lowered one does. It doesn’t actually feel like a 4300lb land yacht.

Sounds like a Livernois tune. They could probably tell if they tuned it with your VIN.

That was the first thing I did when I bought it. I emailed Livernoise and gave them my VIN but they didn’t have a record of it. I don’t know if they checked tuner licensing or just ran it through their garage management software.

The 2 bar, 2.5 and 3 bar all have the same part number except the last two letters on the end.

Yep, you’re absolutely right, which is why I was asking about the ECM software info. I figure that there’s probably multiple people on this forum who perform their own tuning. Maybe they can enlighten me on the software and ECM strategies and identify the S/W numbers. Maybe not, just figured I’d give it a shot. It’s cool, I’ll buy a tuner soon enough and just start from square one. Thanks again, for all the help.

Sounds like to me it is a livernois tune. Bought mine that shifted similar. Had a livernois tuner in glove box. Mostly stock just CAI. Took to my local Ford dealer and had them flash it back to stock. Didn't cost much and didn't take long. Wanted to start from scratch and have stock tune to have for sct tuner.

Isn't it true that the programming for the transmission - might NOT have reflashed back even if the person had a tuner and returned to stock file?
