Ecm replacement

Hi folks, I'm replacing my ecm and wondering if the dealer has to program. I'm getting security errors after plugging the replacement unit in. I suspect the vin needs to be written to it. Car is a 2011. I'm replacing due to getting a wide range of codes all at once. From ac circuit, cam sensors, o2, boost solenoids and on and on. Might be a coincidence but it happens right after a upr catch can install.

Yes someone with a ford scan tool will have to program the new p.c.m. and take care of security P.A.T.S. programing.

Its not common to burn up a pcm. How sure are you that the p.c.m. is faulted and you don't have a circuit v-ref fault? There are multiple legs of v-ref and not all of them may be associated to the v-ref PID. I. Making a huge assumption.

Also, the new pcm may not set d.t.cs untill programed.
