I had an Eclipse in my Thunderbird, I loved it, and it worked flawlessly for 2 years. Only problem I had was that I couldn't really read the display since the dashtilts up in the '96 'Bird.

the only reason I'm asking is since I bought this CD player a year ago, I've had it replaced under warranty once already, and in another week or so, it's being sent in AGAIN. The motorized face-plate ain't working properly, and for some reason, it doesn't wanna play CDs half the time. It's not for lack of cleaning the lens, either.

What model of Eclipse unit did you buy? Is it dusty inside your car often?

They make, or for sure made, some very nice HU's. They really have a good DAC setup.

Nakamichi, yes, I love those! However cream of the crop is still Denon. (imported, they aren't sold as retail products in the US)

I've got a CD3434 unit. it's almost never dusty in my car. ****, you can't even tell I smoke in there. Like I said, I've run a CD lens cleaner through there about 50 times, but to no avail.

I have had 3 different Eclipses in 3 different cars, all of them worked fine except one that was pretty old, had some problems through the rear speakers. My opinion is theyre one of the best for the money, and if I get another HU, it'll probably be an Eclipse
