I bought 8 coils from eBay so far. Half for myself and half for my brothers SHO. It has only been about 3-4 months and a coil from both of our cars is either dead or going dead. Not sure how much longer the others will last.

So, if you need to buy coils from China.. just beware they aren't the best of quality.

In hindsight, you probably should have asked the Forum before buying.

lol...... hypocrites...

Yes, there was a topic not too long ago about it. Most people said they were fine (although not many people have actually bought them). So, I bought them.

I'm merely just following up with actual feedback :D

I agree with your assesment. I had one go bad in a year. Of course my car has been running hot, but the newer Motorcrafts seem far superior at this point.

Yes I agree.I bought a set and now I have a misfire only at idle with the ac on. Swapped the old ones in the front and it's still there. So guess what I get to do again. Bad part is the car ran good, just a maintenance item when I was doing v-c gaskets.

yeah.. I mean I have put 8 coils in two different cars, and only 1 in each have gone bad, so it may be too early, and there are always bad coils. We'll see what happens in the next couple of months.

I just go to pull-a-part and buy them for cheap. I always check the plugs to make sure they are clean looking as this will tell me that if the plugs look good, chances are the coil is good and was firing properly. I have gotten a few this way. The problem is, out of about 5 pull-a-parts in my surrounding area, there is only 1 Gen3 SHO.

Damn, really? I haven't been to one since last year, but I've probably been 10+ times to each of the 3 along I-70 and never saw one. Just my luck eh.

As much as people bemoan Wells products I have never had one go bad out of the 8 I bought a few tears ago.

I am still on the original set that came with the car when it was new. I admit this has me surprised, and I was looking at the Chinese ones figuring to have a set on hand at that price. Would the general suggestion be to perhaps buy 10 or so, to account for a couple going bad?

I would say you are probably right.

I haven't had them for more than 10k miles and only 1 is going bad (miss at idle).

Also.. they say lifetime warranty.. but that's a big pile of crap. The guy had a 20,000 ebay rating and then when I actually need it replaced, he deleted his eBay account, wtf.

No. Spend the extra $$$ for good ones. If it were something that took 5 minutes to replace, go for it. Unless you like replacing those rear coils.

But, these are like throwout bearings. Why buy the cheap $10 one when it takes 8-10 hours labor, or maybe $500-600, to have someone replace it?

Well.. I would take the risk at $10 a pop than pay $80 for ones from AutoZone.. which are probably made in China anyway.
