My a/c is not working properly. The fan does not blow hard enough at high, and when I accelerate, the air will is diverted from the panel vents to the defroster. This only lasts a couple of seconds before the air comes back out of the front panel again. I beleive that this is a vacuum problem. As the engine looses vacuum under load, vacuum solenoid motor activates the defroster setting.

I beleive that the EACT is the problem.

Are there any EATC's from other Ford cars that will drop into the SHO without any modifications?

I don't know if those Lincoln eatc swaps are plug and play or not but if you are looking for a newer unit consider one from a '95. IIRC they have the hard buttons less prone to cracking. Maybe some of the regular Taurii has this unit as an option?

the Lincoln units are NOT plug 'n play. They require tinkering with the wire runs beneath the faceplate. they are doable, though.

just got back from an a/c shop, and they they found a loose vacuum tube under the dash. Hooked it up and now my a/c works great.

All the buttons on my EATC are good. I thought that the problems that I had were probably related to it.

My a/c blower does not blow as hard as I would like. Is this typical for older SHO's?

Before I got home, though, my new Optima battery gave out. Looks like I lost my alternator.

Man, I can identify with "alwaysbreakingsho".
