I recently charged up my ac and it works like new. However since the car is 11 yrs old little things are going. The is a little door that the eatc uses to control the dipursement of the fan air. I turn the ac to max and it gets cold the fan is loud and blowing, but there is only a little air coming from the vents. I recently had my dash apart to change the bulbs. ALL the vents are clear so it must be that door that is not open all the way to get the air.
QUESTION where is that door!!!

The BDA controls the mix between warm and cold air, it doesn't control the direction from the floor to the dash, etc. If you can select between cold A/C air and warm heater, the BDA is working.

Thanks SHOAZ. My bad on that one. I definitely left my brain in Park with that post.
I did run into a problem with my 95 mtx after some indepth dash work (read BDA) and discovered a vacuum line had pulled loose from the panel vacuum motor. As I recall, the vacuum line was yellow in color and connects to the vacuum motor on the right hand side of the A/C plenum on the glovebox side way back by the firewall.
Again, sorry for the bad info. I hope this is of some help.

There are 3 vacuum motors that drive the flaps that control where the air blows. I had a bad one several years back and it caused AC to blow out the defroster only. The good way to figure it is to just tear out some of the dash until you find them, pull them out one by one and see which one won't hold vacuum (pull or push the rod and hold your thumb over the vac port - if it stays put it is good). It helps to know how to get the radio and cup holders out ('92) - bend a chunk of clothes hanger into a U and push it into the holes on either side to release the radio/cupholder module. These motors are pretty much A or B - on/off - only one has 3 settings it can sit at (2 vac lines). They look like small crimped silver cans with a rod/lever coming out one and and a port for a vac line or 2 in them.

Also, a common point of failure in the vacuum line seems to be where it comes through the firewall on the engine side. It comes through by the heater core hoses and makes a bend and right where it makes the bend it tends to get brittle and crack and break. Mine had a hole in it there and broke right off when I moved it.
